Michael Octave Andre

Michael Octave Andre, 77, of Bismarck, IL., passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Arcadia Healthcare in Danville.

He was born January 6, 1947, in Danville, IL., son of the late Octave and Julia (Rokoske) Andre.

Michael married Jeanette Plog on February 22, 1969, in Danville, IL., and she survives.

Also surviving are his children: Octave (Annmarie) Andre of Winston, GA., Michael P. Andre of Clarksville, TN., and Patricia L. Andre of Bismarck, IL; two sisters: Patricia (Robert) Perszyk and Jeanette K. Andre; his grandchildren: Bonscott Sewell, Nathan Sewell, Chelsey Oliver, Stacia McKinney, Damon (Ashlynn) McKinney, Orion (Carli) Andre, and Michael Dean Mayfield; along with 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren.

Michael worked for Bohn Aluminum, which later would be bought out by Heatcraft, for 45 years. He also served as an auxiliary police officer for the Danville Police Department for 15 years. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed fishing, leatherworking, cooking, metal detecting, and spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Michael will take place at 2PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, IL., with Fr. Ignatius Mulenda officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1PM-2PM Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the funeral home.
