Michael Lucas

Michael Paul Lucas, 61, of Westover, Alabama, formerly of Danville, IL passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2010 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born on November 30, 1948 in Danville, IL to Mildred (Owen) Atwood. Those who will miss him include his brothers; Butch (Debbie) Atwood of Winfield, MO, John (Teri) Atwood of Danville, Rocky (Joyce) Atwood of Fairmount, and Dr. Donald Hedges of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; his nieces and nephews, John (Linda) Atwood II of Danville, Lyndsey Atwood of Danville, Chase (Heather) Atwood, State Line City, IN, Pamela (Scott) Lucas of Orlando, FL, Jeana (Patrick) Hill of Norfolk, VA, Rocky Lee Atwood of Fairmount, Sierra Atwood of Fairmount, and Beau Atwood of Fairmount; many great nieces and nephews, Layla Jade Atwood, Joshua and Hannah Lucas, Morgan and Amber Melville, Grace and Ryan Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Paul and Anna Bednar, and his beloved dog, Dakota. Michael worked for Charter Communications for many years where he traveled around and trained. Michael loved animals (and rescued many), he enjoyed music and loved to travel. He had lived in many states including California, Colorado, Missouri, and Alabama. He graduated from Danville High School and attended DACC. He served in the United States Army from March of 1971 to June of 1981. He was a member of Cross Bridge Community Church in Alabama.
