Michael Lampin

Mike Lampin, 64, of Danville, passed away at 5:55pm on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Danville VA Illiana Health Care Systems. He was born on January 13, 1947 in Danville, IL, the son of Charles and Wanita Mae (Davidson) Bobbins. Mike graduated from Danville High School and participated in track and football truly enjoyed being a Viking. Mike also worked for his fathers construction company, Lampin Construction. He proudly served in the United States Navy, lived in Florida with his grandmother working as a mail carrier, and in and Champaign. He had been a long time resident of the Danville VA where he was like family. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his mother, Wanita Warner, his sister, Trina Hyatt, two nieces, Amber and Jessica Hyatt, a very special great niece, Lezlie Miller, and his VA family. His Father, Charles, and his grandparents, Arthur and Ruth Davidson preceded Mike in death. A celebration of Life Service for Michael Lampin will begin at 1:30pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the VA Protestant Chapel with inurnment to follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:30am until time of memorial service on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the VA Chapel.
