Michael Holliday

Michael Holliday, 79, of Cayuga, IN, passed away at 8:03am, Monday, October 17, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. He was born on August 25, 1943, in Glendale, West Virginia, the son of Michael A. and Helen {Hinerman} Holliday. He was united in marriage to Donna Hall on December 26, 1964, in Moundsville, WV. She will miss him dearly after being together for 60 years and 58 of them married. He will also be missed by his children, Chuck (Fran) Holliday, Michelle (Pete) Heavilin, David (Cindie) Holliday, Christa (Jon) VanSant, and Lisa Sonksen, and a few honorary children; his grandchildren, Brad (Yoko) Heavilin, Shaun (Jessica) Heavilin, Ashlea VanSant, Jerod VanSant, Robert Holliday, Kayla Holliday, Wyatt Moncrief, Carly Holliday, & Michael E. Holliday; his sisters, Diane (Trent) Unger & Ellen (Larry) Perry; his brother, Melvin Holliday; his sister, Shirley Holliday; his seven nieces & nephews; and his lifelong best friend, Roger and his wife, Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Holliday; his sisters, Zendy Holliday & Fairlyn Holliday; and three nieces & nephews. Michael worked at Heatcraft/Bohn Aluminum in Danville, IL, for 42 years. He and his wife, Donna, loved to travel and have visited all the US Continental States. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and SkipBo as well as Mexican Train and other board games. He loved connecting with people over FaceBook and creating many friends. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. A celebration of Michaels life will be held at 2:00pm (Est), Monday, October 24, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, DeVerter Chapel, 215 N. Division Street, Cayuga, IN 47928 with Brandon Current officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm (noon) to 2:00pm on Monday prior to his service at the funeral home.
