Urbana - Michael Gerald Hansen, 71, passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign, IL. He was born on February 10, 1946 in Danville, IL to James and Flona (Sheffield) Hansen. Michael married Pamela S. Dean on November 26, 1993 in Urbana, IL. Michael is survived by his son Rodney C. Hansen of Urbana, IL; step-daughter Judith O'Donnell of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters Louise McDade and Cheryl Rhodes both of Mt. Home, AK, and Penee Casiano of Oklahoma City, OK; brother Jeffrey (Ruth) Hansen of Tallohoma, TN; brother-in-law Eric (Lisa) Dean of Champaign, IL; parents-in-law William and Wanda Dean of Urbana, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew Matt (Val) Williams and family of Wellington, IL. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Michael was a fanatic of Chicago Cubs baseball, Chicago Bears football, and Illini basketball. A graveside committal with military honors will be held at 9:30am on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Charlotte Blissett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
