Michael Dale Henk, 82, of Danville passed away with his children by his side at 10:28 PM on January 7, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Michael was born on November 18, 1942 the son of Wilbur and Myrtle (Leisch) Henk in Danville, IL. Michael married Judith A. Techtow on October 29, 1963 and later divorced. He and Judith remained friends and she blessed him with three children and one stepson.
Survivors include his children, Michael (Nancy) Henk of Greenville, TN, Troy (Joee) Henk of Danville, IL and Tricia Henk of Bismarck, IL, ten grandchildren, Carter Henk, Austin (Jasmine) Taylor, Brittany (Nicholas) Berger, Lucas Boyd, Lauren Boyd, Zachery Brogan, Whitney Henk, Michael (Mikaela) Henk, Cody Jacobs and Chanz Jacobs, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother, Dan (Judy) Henk of Danville, IL, one sister, Patricia Brown and the late Jerome Brown of Danville, IL as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, one stepson, Todd Potter, one brother-in-law, Jerome Brown.
Michael was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked as a Pressman for Eureka Printing for 12 years and later retired from Quaker Oats after 35 years. Michael was an avid NASCAR, hockey, baseball and football fan. He always looked forward to spending time with family on Sunday for brunch at the casino.
He enjoyed taking rides listening to classic country music, whether it be just around Danville or he would find himself spending hours with longtime friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the funeral home.
