Merlin 'Zeke' D. Meeker

Merlin D. "Zeke" Meeker, 89, of Danville, IL passed away at 4:23 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Hawthorne Inn. He was born on April 1, 1930 in Stark County, IL the son of Duane Edward and Evelyn Belle (Emery) Meeker. They precede him in death.

Merlin leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Georgeanna Meeker; one son, Mickey (Debbie) Meeker; one daughter, Melissa (Lonnie) Bonebright; five grandchildren, Madison and Makenzie Bonebright, and Jamie, Josh, and Jennifer Meeker.

Preceding Merlin in death include two brothers, Marvin Meeker and Aryl Meeker; one sister, Marcella Thomas; and one daughter, Valerie Schreck.

Merlin worked for Hyster for over 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #479. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was inducted into the Danville Bowling Hall of Fame.

Merlin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Filisky. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Per Merlins wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Merlins name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
