Merle Dean Sager Jr.

Merle Dean Sager Jr., a devoted husband, father, and community member, passed away on January 12, 2025, in his lifelong hometown of Danville. Born on June 3, 1947, Merle dedicated 25 years of his life as a warehouse manager at Pepsi, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Merle was happily married to Linda Sager on November 14, 1970, celebrating a partnership rich with love and camaraderie. 

His interests reflected a man full of passion and commitment. He loved cars, finding joy in their design and mechanics. A proud mason, he contributed to his community in meaningful ways. He served as a deacon at Ridgeview Baptist Church for 25 years, guiding many with his faith and kindness.

Merle is also remembered fondly by his furry companions, dogs Izzy, Abby, and Lacey, who brought him much joy. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his son, Brian; and his four siblings, who will carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Dean Sager Sr. and Elizabeth Sager, who shaped him into the caring and dedicated man he became. Merle's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.

Merle be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, 107 Greenwood Cemetery Rd, Danville, IL 61832.
