Meredith L. Spiering

DANVILLE - Meredith L. Spiering, 91, of Danville passed away at 8:17am, Friday, January 11th, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born on December 9th, 1916, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Edward and Elma (Glennen) LeConte, both deceased. She was wed to Herb Spiering on June 20th, 1936, in Danville. He preceded her in death October 15th, 1963. Survivors include: her daughter, Mary Ann (Brad) Bates of Danville; a special daughter-in-law, Alyce (Jim) Schifo of Westville; her three grandchildren, Jim Bates of Chicago, Michael Spiering of Westville, & Patrick (Lynly) Spiering of Brookfield, WI; ; her step grandchild, David (Jennifer) Schifo of Harlingen, TX; her great grandchildren, Katie Spiering, Christian Spiering, & Ben Schifo; and several nieces & nephews. Her son - Larry Spiering, three brothers - Alfred, Harlen, & Harold, two sisters - Faye & Elizabeth, and an infant sister - Muriel, preceded Meredith in death. Meredith was a member of St. Marys Church in Westville. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, and doing crossword puzzles and loved to listen to music. A celebration of Merediths life will be held at 10:00am, Monday, January 14th, 2008, at St. Marys Church, 231 N State St, Westville, IL. Father Richard Brunskill will officiate the service. Visitation will be 4pm to 6pm, Sunday, January 13th, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, IL. A rosary service will be held at 3:30pm before visitation. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial donations to be given in Merediths name to St. Marys Church or to donors choice.
