Melvin Pichon

Melvin Pichon, 77, of Danville, passed away at 4:10pm on Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on December 6, 1931, the son of Charles and Amelia (Wauquier) Pichon. Both deceased. Melvin is survived and will be missed by his wife, Barbara of 44 years, his children; Randy (Kathy) Pichon of Danville, Rita (Brent) Denhalter of Danville, his 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grand children, his brother, Herbert (Carol) Pichon of Danville, and his 2 sisters, Harriet Vernay, and Norma Lester, both of Danville. His son Michael Moore, and his sister, Charlotte Boyer, precede Melvin in death. Melvin was a member and elder of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville, and enlisted in the Naval Reserves after attending Hillary Schools. He was employed as a mechanic at the General Motors Tilton Foundry for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a 50-year member and a 32-degree mason of the Danville Anchore Lodge. Melvins family was always first in his life, and he loved working with his hands and fixing things for others.
