MELVIN LEROY NEFF Melvin Leroy Neff, 50, of Danville, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Monday, December 20th, 2010 at his home. Melvin was born on July 16th, 1960 in Danville, the son of William Melvin and Hazel (Rudolph) Neff Jr. He is survived by his mother- Hazel Davan of Danville; long time girlfriend- Ammie Parker of Danville; brother- Mike (Karla) Neff of Potomac; sister- Donna (Martin) Jones of Denham Springs, Louisiana; step-brother- Lynndell (Lisa) Davan of Rossville; step-sister- Marcia Dukes of Rossville; special friends- Don Duez and Ed Stone of Danville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and step-father- Warren Davan. Melvin graduated from Danville High School in 1978. After high school, he attended DACC. He worked for Eisner-Jewell and County Market. Melvin enjoyed working on computers, listening to music, shooting guns, reading and he was an avid Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings fan. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 at the Liberty Estates Chapel, 3220 Independence Drive, 3rd Floor, Danville, Illinois 61832. As per his familys wishes, cremation rites will be performed at Sunsets onsite crematory under the immediate direction of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home.
