Melba Faye Moreman Arnold, 84, of Danville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Melba was born on June 11, 1924, in Beckley, West Virginia, the daughter of Matlind Mate and Magnona Peg (Wright) Walker. She married James Allen Moreman. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1996. She also married Richard Thomas Arnold I. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1984. She is survived by three sons- Terry (Judy) Moreman of Danville, Richard Thomas Arnold II of Guam and Robert Lee Arnold of Union, Missouri; four daughters- Drema Grant of Danville, Cheryl Newell of Indianapolis, Indiana, Donna (Morris) Dieckman of Marthasville, Missouri and Debbie Painter of Washington, Missouri; one sister- Lula Lambert of Urbana, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, one daughter- Sharon Arnold, one sister, one niece and one nephew. Melba was a caregiver for 10 years for disabled people. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed reading, shopping and animals. Melba loved to take care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Melba Faye Moreman Arnold will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Rev. Phil Jackson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service on Friday in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
