Maya Pope

Maya Pope, 92, of Danville, IL passed away April 30, 2018 at North Logan Health Care. Maya was born on Augusta 28, 1925 to Stainalas and Paula Czerwinski in Roncourt, France. She was married to Harold Pope on October 17, 1945 while he was stationed in France during WWII. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Pope; mother, Paula Czerwinski; husband, Harold Pope; and her great, great grandson, Judson Price. She is survived by her children Gloria (Jerry) McKenzie of Yuba City, CA, Ann (Steve) Stuckey of Sun City, AZ, John "Paul" (JoAnn) Pope of Danville, IL, and Pam (Blacky) Blackburn of Danville, IL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, and her lifelong friend, Donna Bueche. Maya enjoyed shopping, decorating, gardening, cooking, and her dog, Beabea. We are grateful for all the times she brought her family together for family meals and she will be missed. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Maya's request there will not be services.
