Maxine Tabels

Rosalee Maxine Tabels, of Danville passed away on April 23, 2007 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Maxine was born January 12, 1919 near Ellis, Illinois daughter of Charles William and Lena Lee Cronkhite Jordan. She married Gilbert Edward Tabels on June 22, 1940. He preceded her in March of 1999. Surviving are two children Carl Tabels and Rena (James) Grimes; daughter of the heart Linda Tabels, six grandchildren: Kara (Jason) Davis, Jeffrey Tabels, Kelly Freeman, Krista Tabels, Tia (Paul Boswell) Hoover, and Tija (Mike) Long, and eleven great grandchildren: Alora, Alyssa, Andrea, Andrew, Adam, Hannah, Jocelyn, Cameron, Austin, Gabe, and Madelyn. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Maxine was a graduate of West Lebanon High School in Indiana. She worked for K-Mart for 22 years as well as being a dedicated and loving homemaker & mother. She enjoyed doing hand crafts and belonged to the K-Mart Retirees Club and volunteered for CRIS Senior Services. Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville was blessed with her attendance for many years. A Celebration of Maxines Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Parks Mausoleum.
