Perrysville, Ind. - Maxine M. Wilson, 102, of Perrysville, passed away at 5:50 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. She was born March 16, 1909 in Cates, Indiana the daughter of the late William and Minnie Allen Perry. She married Clarence Wilson on December 11, 1926 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1986. Survivors include one son, Everett Wilson of Huntsville, Texas; one daughter, Martha Stout of Perrysville, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Denise, Dale, Donne, D'Anne, Pam, LuAnn, Christopher, Shawn, Casey Lu and Mike; five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; three sisters, Genevieve Beals of Cates, Indiana; Connie Warnick of Silver Island, Indiana and Ramona Stonebraker of Cates, Indiana and one brother, Leon Perry of Cates, Indiana. Maxine was preceded in death by five brothers and her son-in-law, James Stout. During W.W. II, Maxine worked at the Defense Plant in Harvey, Illinois. She retired from General Electric in Danville, Illinois in 1961. Maxine also worked at the Parksdale Strawberry Farm in Plant City, Florida for over 40 years. Maxine was a former school bus driver (24 years) for the Perrysville School Corporation. She was a member of the Stringtown Church of God, south of Covington, Indiana. Maxine enjoyed working on the farm and knitting. Graveside service and burial: 2 p.m. EST Friday, December 30, 2011 at Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Duane L. Mycroft. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
