Maxine Lamar

Maxine H. LaMar, 77, of Danville IL, joined her husband in Heaven on February 2, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 6, 1933 to the late Robert and Wava Clauson in Hammond, IN. Maxines family moved to Danville when she was in elementary school. She married Harold LaMar on October 5, 1951, and he preceded her in death in August of 1990. She worked at the Danville telephone company as an operator, but her greatest happiness was being a homemaker and raising a family. Everyone who knew her was touched by her unconditional love, forgiveness, and understanding, especially her family. She was also known for her good sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Maxine is survived by her son, Mark (Lisa Dillon) LaMar, her daughters, Cheryl Groppi (Bill Blackford), Jody LeMeur, all of Danville, and Rhonda (Mohammad) Roohparvar of Columbia, MO. Her two stepchildren, Judy (John) Kassos, and Harold LaMar Jr., both of Florida. Her brother, Ronald (Louise) Clauson, of St. Louis, MO, a sister, Alice (George) Boucher of Crown point, IN, her thirteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, with one due in March, several nieces, nephews, and one special niece, Patti Fourez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. LaMar, her 3 sisters, Dorothy Boucher, Betty McDaniels, Shirley Tankersley, and two brothers, Raymond Clauson, and an infant brother. A Celebration of Life service for Maxine H. LaMar will begin at 11:00am on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel located at 414 S. State Street in Westville, IL with burial to take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville following the service. Pastor Doug Hummer has been asked to officiate her service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9am until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
