Maxine J Musgrove

Maxine J. Musgrove, 84, of Danville, passed away at 6:44am on Thursday June 13, 2019. Maxine was born in Powers, Michigan on December 21, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Alice ONeil. On May 25, 1957 she married the love of her life Bobby C. Musgrove and they happily spent the next 51 years together before his passing on January 29, 2009.

Surviving Maxine are her daughter, Barbara Musgrove of Danville; sons, Bill (Alicia) Musgrove of Danville, Robert (Angie) Musgrove of Danville; grandchildren, Matthew Musgrove, Mindy Musgrove, Hannah Musgrove, Emily Musgrove, great-grandson Dylon Musgrove; sisters, Shirley Price of Danville, Patsy Hronek of Green Bay, WI, Shelby (Al) Monaco of Danville, Sally( John) Lisick of Cayuga, IN, Linda (Bobby) Woods of Fairmount and Carmel (Ellis) Mellinger of Long Beach, CA.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Billy ONeil, Wally ONeil; brothers-in-law, Gene Price, Richard Hronek and sister-in-law, Joellyn ONeil

Maxine was the oldest of nine children and the ONeil family moved to Danville in 1953. Maxine became a mother figure to her younger two siblings after their mothers passing. Maxine worked at Bohn Aluminum for 39 years before retiring. In her spare time, she began baking cakes, word spread of how delicious they were, and she then had a second job. Maxine loved having family gatherings for any holiday and she was always there to help anyone in need. We are blessed to call her mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday June 17, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church 444 E. Main St. Danville. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 16, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm with a rosary service at 3:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home 3940 N Vermilion in Danville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Activities Department at Hawthorne Inn.
