Maxine A. Harmon

Maxine Ann Harmon, age 86, died peacefully at Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care in Crystal Lake, IL on July 12, 2025.

Maxine was born in Danville on December 12, 1938 to Max F. Elliott and Jeannette C. (Willhoit) Elliot. A lifelong resident of Danville, Maxine graduated from Danville High School in 1957. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for several local businesses before joining Blue Cross/Blue Shield, where she built a career.

She married Dennis G. Harmon on May 5, 1976. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2014. Maxine enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golf, reading, cross-stitch, travel, dancing and dining out.

She is survived by her step-children Thomas (Elizabeth) Harmon of Crystal Lake, IL, and Karla (Jerry) Crowder of Princeton, TX, along with 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Paul Rebert will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
