Maxine M. Hambright, 83 of Danville passed away on March 1, 2011 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Maxine was born on November 16, 1927 daughter of August and Matilda (Shuler) Niedrich. She married Eugene Hambright on March 17, 1948 in Danville. He preceded her in death September of 2006 after 58 years of marriage. Survivors include son Randy (Nancy) Hambright of San Antonio, TX and daughter Brenda (Mike) Strader of Decatur, IL; four grandchildren: Georgie and Anna Hambright, Jonathon (Michelle) Strader, and Molly (Gene) Fruit; five great grandchildren: Mimi, Gage, Isabella, Jon Jon, and baby Sophie, born on her 83rd birthday. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Vi, Imogene, and Rose, and brother Ed. Maxine graduated from Danville High School in the class of 1945. She worked for 15 years at Carson Pirie Scott, but above all she was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband to California to visit family, Don and Thelma Hambright, and to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed bingo, golfing, knitting, crocheting, wildlife and nature. She was a longtime member of St. James Methodist Church, the quilting club and the coin club of Danville. A Celebration of Maxines Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, March 7, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Ken Cox officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
