Maxine Granny McCoy, 75, of Danville passed away on October 22, 2009 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Maxine was born September 9, 1934 in Hawkins County, TN daughter of Orville and Bess (Church) Price. She married Wayne McCoy on May 15, 1954 in Morristown, TN. He survives along with three children: Glen (Marybeth) McCoy, Carolyn (Danny Feggett) Anderson, and Tina (Thomas) Spain; brother: Dan Price; 9 grandchildren: Kyla Anderson, Jessica Spain, Kristin Anderson, Nicole McCoy, Amy (Bret) Miller, Kassie (Michael) Long, Tyler McCoy, Cara Spain, and Ben Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren: Amari, Nathan, Taylor, and Kinley. Her parents, brother and three sisters preceded her in death. Maxine attended Rogersville, TN schools and was a member of the Caney Creek Baptist Church in Rogersville. She loved children and spent 30+ years babysitting for many families and had several friends at the Danville County Market where she did demos. Maxine enjoyed shopping, playing Yahtzee with the grandchildren and playing Bunco with her clubs, was one of the best cooks ever, and was an avid Cubs fan. Maxine loved sitting by the pool, laughing, and she was happiest with friends and family. A Celebration of Maxines Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 26, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Parks Mausoleum.
