Danville, Ill. -- Maxine Curry, 70, of Danville and formerly of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 9:05 a.m. CDT Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in Danville, Illinois. She was born April 28, 1937 in Hoopeston, Illinois, the daughter of the late Joyce Dudley and Irene Kinneer Whiteman. Survivors include: two sons, Randy(Lana)Curry of Tilton, Illinois and Tim(Patti L.)Curry of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jill(Bill)Varner of Catlin, Illinois; five grandchildren, Marisa Curry; Randi Curry; Kyle Smith; Dana Curry and Randy Curry; two great grandsons, Troy and Travis; one brother, Robert Whiteman of Anchorage, Alaska and two special friends, Monty and Larry. Maxine formerly worked for R&S in Danville and for the Fountain County Ambulance Service. She attended the Second Church of Christ in Danville. Maxine was a member of the V.F.W. #4826 Ladies Auxiliary in Hoopeston, Illinois. She enjoyed reading and raising flowers. Private graveside services and burial were held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Locust Grove Cemetery in Tab, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Raymie Gordon. Contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
