Max Barker

Max D. Barker, 74, of Olivet, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Friday May 22, 2009 at North Logan Health Care Center. He was born on April 17, 2009 in Rosedale, IN the son Cecil C. and Gertie R. Preist. He married Virginia E. Sutton on November 24, 1957 in Rossville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, Rick D. Barker of Danville and Randy L. Barker of Danville; his daughter, Amy R. Knolhoff of Lafayette, IN; his grandchildren, Ryan D. Barker of New York, Hailey N. Campbell of Lafayette, IN, and Collin, Carter, and Holden Knolhoff, all of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Max retired from GM in 1991, after approximately 28 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Max was a beautiful artist that enjoyed singing and loved country western music. Max loved drawing and playing his guitar. He liked to tell jokes and loved working out in his yard. He also loved coconut cream pie.
