Maurice B. Clouse Jr., 93, of Cayuga, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at his residence on March 11, 2026.
Maurice was born on June 21, 1932, in Jonesville, Virginia, to Maurice B. Clouse Sr. and Birdie E. Clouse. He lived a life characterized by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.
On June 21, 1957, Maurice married the love of his life, Margaret (Fortner) Clouse. Together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage and built a legacy centered on faith, family, and devotion.
Maurice is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Clouse; his daughters, Cathy (Doug) Tilford and Karen (John) Acton; his grandchildren, Cole (Danielle) Tilford, Cody (Chelsea) Tilford, and Caleb (Emily) Tilford, Caitlyn (Seth) Parker; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Trenton Tilford, Kambree Tilford, Reece Tilford, Raylynn Tilford, Ruby Tilford, Caroline Tilford, Griffin Tilford, Briggs Parker, and Kennedy Parker.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice B. Clouse Sr. and Birdie E. Clouse; his siblings, Mary M. Whatley, Dorothy Chance, Mark W. Clouse, and John N. Clouse along with their spouses.
Maurice attended Flatwood High School in Jonesville, Virginia, graduating in 1955. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army.
Maurice served his community on the Cayuga Town Board. He was also a member of Waterman Baptist Church for over 65 years. During that time, he served the church in several capacities, including treasurer and trustee, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his faith and church family.
Maurice enjoyed woodworking, gardening, chair caning, and playing golf. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be held on March 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST at Sunset Funeral Home – DeVerter Chapel, 215 North Division Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM EST at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor John Goldfuss. Maurice will be laid to rest at Eugene Cemetery following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterman Baptist Church Building Fund, 8540 West State Road 234, Kingman, Indiana 47952.
