Mattie Kiger

Mattie “Peg” Kiger born 4-26-42 in Arkansas gained her angel wings April 17,2026 in Crawfordsville, In. She is survived by her three daughters: Vicki (Steve) Hoagland, Rosemary Brown and Melissa Kiger, Nine grandchildren Alexis (Andrew) Carrier, Doug (Aly) Hickman, Maggie (Jorge) Mendez, Zachary Hoagland, Natalie Kiger, Alana Kiger, Ezekiel Cardenas, Josh Dixon-Kiger, Dylan Kiger and several great grandchildren including her special caregiver and sidekick Eliza Johnson.

Mattie was proud and passionate about her family, especially her grandkids. She was often known for her candid sense of humor and spitfire antics. Mattie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Brown and her very best friend and sister Barbara (Russ) Allison. As per her wishes there will be no service, just a BIG family celebration in her honor every year. If you would like to honor Mattie, we ask that you make a donation to a charity of your choice. Mattie believed the greatest gift you could give was your time. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to all of those that cared for Mattie, especially the staff in the Cottage at Ben Hur.

Mattie and her family entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center Covington Chapel with her final arrangements. Please join Mattie’s family in sharing pictures, videos, and memories on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
