Matthew Paul Steelman

Matthew Paul Steelman, 32, of Danville, IN, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 5:15pm, Saturday, August 23, 2014, at his mothers home. He was born on July 30, 1982, in Urbana, IL, the son of Kenneth Steelman & Cathy Howe Steelman. Matt will be missed by: his mother, Cathy Krostal of Bloomington, IL; his brother, Ryan Steelman of Milford; his paternal grandmother, Betty Steelman of Olivet; many extended family and friends; and his faithful canine companion, Ivan. He was preceded in death by: his father, Kenny Steelman; paternal grandfather, Burnell Steelman; maternal grandparents, Norman & Nellie Howe. Matt loved playing billiards, the guitar, & practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He really enjoyed his camping & fishing trips with his brother, Ryan. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Matthews life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, August 29, 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville. Memorial donations may be given to his family to help with expenses.
