Matricia Hughey

Matricia B. Hughey, 84, of Ridge Farm, IL, passed away at 6:52am, Thursday, March 12, 2020, at her home. She was born on September 9, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN, to Dewey and Hattie {Higgins} Snider. She was wed to John F. "Johnny" Hughey on December 26, 1964, in Indianapolis, IN, until his passing on October 4, 2014.

She is survived by her 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and her dog, Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 children, and 7 siblings.

Matricia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Georgetown and part of the Red Hat Society of Ridge Farm. She was a protective person and cared for 43 foster children during her life. She was known as a "Mother" to all she met.

A Celebration of Matricias life will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery.
