Danville - Marzelle Blue, 83, of Danville passed away at 8:26 PM on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Danville to Arthur and Irene Whitlock Gallatin. She married Kenneth E. Blue on November 17, 1950 in Danville. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1991. She is survived by three children, Ronald (Nancy) Blue of Danville, Peggy (Rick) Gibson of Danville, and Kerry (Vicki) Blue of Bourbonnais, IL; a sister, Patricia Blankenburg of Chula Vista, CA; nine grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tyler (Victoria), Brittany, and Madeline Blue, Adam (Jen) Cresse, Kelly (Aadam) Alikhan, Justin Blue, Lindsey (Scott) Mann, and Matt (Abby) Blue; and eight great-grandchildren, Adeline Blue, Andrew and Alex Cresse, Maddox Alikhan, Grayson and Cameron Blue, Lexie and Hailey Mann. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gene, Carroll, and Floyd. Marzelle had worked as a telephone operator at Illinois Bell and was a member at United Church of Tilton. She volunteered in the classroom at Danville Public Schools with her daughter and granddaughter from which she received the Vermilion County Golden Ruler Award. Marzelles children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her whole life. She lived for them and was always the happiest when she was around them. A service to celebrate the life of Marzelle Blue will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, with a private family visitation being held from 4-5 PM on Friday, August 29, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Tilton or Danville Public School Foundation.
