Mary Winifred Wini Parker, 83, of Bismarck, died at 3:25 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at The Waters of Covington in Covington, IN. Wini was born July 10, 1923, in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of Otterbein and Edith (Gerrard) Finney. She married Guy W. Parker, Major USA Retired on September 8, 1943 in Danville and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1993. Wini is survived by a daughter Guyla and her husband Charles Boes of Danville; two grandchildren, Charles Bill Boes of Danville and Mary Lori and her husband Chuck Stelter of Danville and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kaity Stelter of Danville and Kyle Stelter who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and John Finney and a sister, June Pachciarz. Wini was a Danville High School graduate of 1942. As a military wife of 27 years, Wini made a home for her family in several states and foreign countries. She enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, cooking, gardening, bowling, playing cards, and crossword puzzles. Her favorite hobby though was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Wini was a member of the Bismarck 1st Church of Christ and a past member of the Bismarck Civic Womens Club. A celebration of Winis life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dave Rumley officiating. Burial will be at Gundy Cemetery.
