Mary R. Vogel

Mary R Vogel, 92, of Westville IL, passed away at her home on October 10, 2026, surrounded by family.

Mary was born in Westville IL to John and Mary Sabalaskeyand had two siblings, John Sabalaskey and Margaret (Sabalaskey) Garrison.

She married the love of her life, Raymond Vogel. They were married 59 years and was a lifelong resident of Westville. They had three daughters, Ramona (Vogel) Davis, Mary Vogel, Melissa (Vogel) Behm.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Vogel, daughter, Mary Vogel, parents John and Mary Sabalaskey, brother, John Sabalaskey, and sister Margaret Garrison.

She is survived by her daughters Ramona (Jeff) Davis of Indianapolis, IN and Melissa (Derry “Skip”) Behm of Naples FL. Grandchildren Blake Davis, Zachary (Christie) Davis, Michael Behm, Maryl (Jonathan) Schroeder, and Alex (Julia) Behm. Great grandchildren, Eva Davis, Anna Davis, Mae Davis, Callum Schroeder and Sloane Schroeder.

Mary enjoyed playing cards with her card clubs and bowling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Family was most important to her. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary worked at the First National Bank of Westville and retired from Heatcraft (Bohn).

Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 North State Street, Westville, IL 61883. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Rosary & Mass will follow at 10:00 AM, with Father Timothy Suappe officiating. Burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery, 11708 N. 1670 East Road, Westville, IL 61883.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Mary’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
