Danville - Mary Songer, passed away on June 13, 2014 in Danville. The daughter of Edwin and Sarah (Powers) Welch. She married Lloyd Songerin Danville in 1935. He has since preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (William) Burow; her brother, Lester Welch; her sister, Rita Varjobodian; her grandchildren, Libbie (Paul) Burow-Cline, Christopher (Cathy) Burow, Eric (Susan) Luke, Daren Luke, and Erin (George) Halls; her great-grandchildren, Brody Cline, William “Boone” Cline, Josh, Zach, and Nick Burrow; and her special friends Margaret Patten and John (Terri) Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Trish Luke; her sisters, Gladys and Florence; and her brothers Edwin and Ray. Mary was a very hard working woman her entire life; she and her husband, Lloyd owned and operated Songer Florist for 35 years. They were also members of Vermilion Hills Golf Course where they enjoyed golfing and fishing. Lloyd was a member of the Lions Club and a 32 degree Mason. Mary was a member of the Pedal Pushers Gardening Club of Danville. Above all else, Mary loved her family and she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A memorial gathering celebrating Marys life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4pm-6pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A private family graveside service will be held on a later Date at Springhill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Marys name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
