Mary Skidmore

Mary E. Skidmore, 62, of Tilton passed away on December 8, 2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. Mary was born April 6, 1945 in Chicago, IL daughter of Herman Taylor and Joan Peterson. She married Michael Skidmore Sr. He survives along with their three children: Penny (David) Ford of Henning, IL, Raymond (Jennifer Boyd) Skidmore of Tilton, IL, and Michael (Monica) Skidmore Jr. of Frederick, MD. Brother: Porter Pete (Kristen) Slevin of Danville. Grandchildren: Joseph, Benjamin, Madeline, Cole, Jade, Michael III, and Crevan; a niece Karley; and nephew Colin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend David (Pete) Cox. Mary worked at Leons Diner as a cook for several years and at the Gilbert House. She was a member of the Henning Women of Today and the Tilton Fire Departments Lady Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Marys Life will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center (Formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel) 3550 N. Vermilion St. Danville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family and/or the Salvation Army.
