Mary Rose Phillips

Mary Rose Phillips, 80, of Georgetown, passed away at 12:00pm, Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Rastus and Freida Start on June 6, 1938. She was united in marriage to Sonny Phillips on February 12, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. He survives. She is also survived by: her sons, Duane Phillips & Lee Phillips; her daughter, Janet (Travis) Gullberg; her grandchildren, Kelly, Weston, & Landen; her six brothers; and her four sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law, Sandy, and two sisters, Ruth & Ida. Mary Rose worked as a waitress for 18 years at the CSQ in Georgetown. She loved being in the country with her animals and always made them her pets. She also enjoyed gardening and going bowling. She was known as the best at putting up with Sonny and enjoyed every minute of it. She truly loved her family and will be missed by those whose lives she touched. A celebration of Mary Rose's life will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, June 22, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Pastor James Blue. Visitation will be held 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
