Mary Potter, 83, of Bismarck passed away on December 3, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Mary was born on March 22, 1941 in Broadlands, IL the daughter of Elmer and Pauline (Miller) Limp. She married Russell Potter on March 4, 1961 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2024.

Survivors include her children, Jane (Brian) Cress, Julie Sheets and James Potter all of Bismarck, IL, four grandchildren, Matthew Cress, Joselyn (Brandon) Curry-Varner, Ashley Sheets and Kelsey Sheets, one great granddaughter, Rae Lynn Curry-Varner and one brother, Jerry (Ramona) Limp of St Joseph, IL.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Potter and one brother, Donald Limp.

Mary worked in the cafeteria at the Bismarck School District for over 20 years and enjoyed spending her free time gardening, knitting, especially knitting socks, reading, taking rides in Model T’s with her husband and spending time with her great granddaughter, Rae Lynn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL. James Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the funeral home.
