Mary Melissa Henk

Mary Melissa (Johnson) Henk, formerly of Danville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018 with family by her side. She was born in Hedrick, Indiana on October 24, 1919, the older daughter of George and Stella (Hardy) Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Lana (Tony) Harter of Gilbert, Arizona, a son, Larry (Jennifer) Henk of Chandler, Arizona, three grandchildren, Jason Metropulos, Christopher Henk and Toni Henk all of Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Henk, her parents, one brother, one sister, and three step brothers. Mary retired from the "Home of Chuckles", Fred W. Amend Company, where she worked for forty years and maintained lasting friendships with many coworkers. A public graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday Feb. 16, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park 3901 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Heidle. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
