Mary M. Hollingsworth

Mary M. Hollingsworth, 95, of Cayuga, formerly of Newport, Indiana, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010 a The Waters of Clinton. She was born July 16, 1915 in Newport, Indiana, the daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Gossett Nickle. She first married Howard Fortner on March 5, 1938. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1977. She later married J.D. Hollingsworth on June 16, 1980 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2000. Survivors include two grandsons, Chris Fortner of Cayuga and Bob Fortner of Georgetown, Illinois, 6 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Fortner, two brothers and a sister. Mary attended the Newport United Methodist Church. She was a 1934 graduate of Newport High School. Graveside services and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana with Pastor William Lehman officiating. There will be no visitation.
