Mary M. Bridgewater

SPRINGFIELD - Mary M. Bridgewater, 88, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Westville, passed away at 7:20pm, Saturday, March 29th, 2008, at St. Johns Hospice in Springfield, IL. She was born on March 31st, 1919, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Mary and Adam Mayerik, both deceased. She was wed to Harold L. Bridgewater on April 19th, 1941, in Westville, IL, until his passing on July 2nd, 1984. Those who will miss her include: Donald (Carol) Bridgewater of Murphysboro, IL, Ronald (Cathy) Bridgewater, and Warren Bud (Jenny) Bridgewater, both of Springfield, IL; her eight grandchildren; her four great grandchildren; and her brother, John Mayerik of Catlin. Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, James Anthony Bridgewater. Mary was a loving homemaker. She had been a member of St. Ritas Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL and was a current member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield. In her spare time, she enjoyed photography, tending flowers, and watching birds as well as other wildlife. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30am, Friday, April 4th, 2008, at St. Marys Church, 231 N State St, Westville, IL. Father Richard Brunskill will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, April 3rd, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, IL, with a Rosary to be done at 4:30pm. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, IL.
