Danville - Mary Louise McMasters, 88, of Danville passed away at 1:09 PM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. She was born on June 14, 1925 in Lodi, IN, the daughter of Jess Alfred Richardson, Sr. and Florence L. (Weir) Richardson. She married Roy D. McMasters on September 14, 1940 in Cayuga, IN. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2002. She is survived by a son, Ronald McMasters of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Kathy Davis of Danville; brother, Philip (Leona) Richardson of Zephyr Hills, FL; sister, Inez Jean (Ken) Avery of Sun City, FL; seven grandchildren, Kari McMasters of Tampa, FL, Shari (Mike) Pippin of Mulberry, FL, Deanna (Tye) Auter of Westville, Don (Nicole) McMasters of Westville, Charles (Andrea) Shutes of West Lafayette, IN, Tom (Rita) Shutes of Lafayette, IN, and Joshua (Gina) Davis of Danville; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Donald McMasters, son-in-law, Larry Davis, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dunbar, three brothers, two half sisters, and a great granddaughter. Mary worked at Eureka Printing Company for many years and retired from Young Foods. She enjoyed long rides, shopping, and lemon ice cream waffle cones from Mikes Chill and was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Since going into the nursing home, she looked forward to ice cream that Tye Auter always brought her. The family would like to thank Joyce Martin for being a good friend to her and the nurses and CNAs at Hawthorne Inn for her excellent care. Also thank you for everything to Susan, Lisa, Nancy, and Danny at Immanuel Senior Residences. It is a great place to live. A service to celebrate the life of Mary McMasters will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Michael Heidle will officiate. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, May 21, also at Sunset in Danville.
