Mary Louise Banks

Mary Louise Banks, 76, of Champaign died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at the Illini Heritage Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held in her honor at 10am, Thursday, November 29 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 710 North Neil Street, Champaign IL. with burial immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, November 28 at Sunset Funeral Home in Champaign. Chaplain Glen Corbly will officiate. Ms. Banks, the daughter of Lee Banks and Mabel Jones (and stepdaughter of Ernest Jones) was born November 7, 1942 in Hartsville, Tennessee. She was the mother of six children, including Mark Banks, who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Tracie Marie (Banks) Smith of Danville; four sons, Clarence and Gerald Williams of Urbana, Steven Williams of Aurora, and Donald Williams of Joliet; and nine grandchildren. Ms. Banks studied nursing and served as an aide for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville before becoming a fulltime mother to her children. She passionately enjoyed listening to music and watching and reading news, and she was proactively involved in her children's education.
