Mary Lou Stewart, 56, of Danville, IL, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. Mary was born January 24, 1953, in Rantoul, IL, daughter of John D. Maguire and Dorothy M. (Robinson) Edinger. She married Gordon D. Stewart on June 1, 1990, in Danville, Illinois. He survives. . Mary is also survived by her parents, Norman and Dorothy Edinger, five daughters, Angela Sue (Eric) Groeteke of Springfield, IL, Rebecca Lynn (A.J.) Moore of Bakersfield, CA, Carrie Ann (Steven) Kerrigan of Danville, IL, Jessica Marie Weathers of Georgetown, IL, and Sarah Jane Cottle of Danville, IL; three cherished stepchildren, Jamie S. Grabener of Houston, TX, Troy W. (Nicole) Cottle of Hohenwald, TN, and Justin A. Cottle of Las Vegas, NV.; grand-children, Claire M. Groeteke, Christopher D. Howe, Eric R. Groeteke Jr, Michael R Howe, Jakob R. Groeteke, Alexis P. Moore, Trevor J. Moore, Trenton M. Wilson,, Christian H. Chapman, Aiden T. Kerrigan, Katherine R. Kerrigan, Trystan D. Turner, Madison D. Turner, Aiden J. Weathers, Brandon Cottle and Tyler Cottle, three sisters, Linda (Susie) Gritten of Muncie, IL, Margaret (Dave) Garland of Danville, IL, Linda Maguire of TX; two brothers, John (Wendi) Maguire of Lafayette, LA, and Gary (Monica) Edinger of Danville, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, John Maguire, and her grandparents. Mary graduated from Danville High School in 1970. She worked the last five years for Flight Star and previously worked at Auto Zone for six years. Mary was an avid cake maker and loved golfing, bowling, and cooking. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading. Mary was a member of the Red Hat Society Dazzlin' Dames Chapter. She was also a member of the B 634th BSB Family Readiness Group and attended the First Presbyterian Church of Rossville. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Scott Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Danville Provena Cancer Center.
