Mary Lou Sacotnik, 86, of Westville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Belle Meade Rehabilitation Facility in Paragould, AR. Mary Lou was born July 23, 1927, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Russell and Esther Blanche (Gouty) Pool. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Danville. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Robert Sacotnik on July 23, 1950, in Danville. He preceded her in death May 17, 1983 after 33 years of marriage. Mary Lou will be greatly missed by one son, Gregg (Judy) Sacotnik of Danville; one daughter, Gretchen Sacotnik of Paragould, AR; two grandchildren, Tracy (Jennifer) Pierce of Hampshire, IL; and Pamela (Corey) Wilson of Danville, IL; and three great-grandchildren, Jenna Pierce, Troy Pierce, and Emily Wilson; her sister, Margaret Boehme of Danville. Mary Lous greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a fun loving person who had a contagious laugh and a great smile. She enjoyed camping, picnicking, power boating, canoeing and travel with family and friends. She was an avid bowler and participated in a womans bowling league well into her 70s. Mary Lou was employed at the Westville Gas and Water Department and retired from there after many years of service. She enjoyed working with the public. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Al Rudie officiating. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville on Monday February 10 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
