Mary Lou Collom

Mary Lou Collom, 83, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 2:15am, Monday, October 10, 2022, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, IL. She was born on September 5, 1939, in Ridge Farm the daughter of Virgil and Mary "Ruth" {Poling} Kunkle, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Elza Dale Collom on December 15, 1962, until his passing on July 8, 2000. Mary Lou will be missed by her children, Raymond (Lori) Collom of Georgetown & Tammy Baker of Ridge Farm; her grandchildren, Jamie (Larry) Ross, Jera (Joe Hardiman) Baker, Kenna Baker, Zaaron (Caitlyn) Baker, Cierra (Brandon) Herrin, & Amanda Collom; her great grandchildren, Quinleigh, Kaelyn, Madelynn, Taelynn, Blakelynn, & Parklynn; her sister, Virginia Pratt; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Sue Kunkle & Shirley Razmus; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Kenneth Collom; and her brother, Russell Kunkle. Mary Lou enjoyed going bowling, eating ice cream, playing cards with friends, & doing puzzles. She cherished spending time with her family as well as being Joes partner in Euchre and always winning. Mary Lou felt blessed to be part of the family of God at Bethel Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she had touched. A celebration of Mary Lous life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church, 501 S. Main St, Georgetown, IL, 61846 with Pastor Aaron Rohde officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm, IL. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Bethel Baptist Church, Georgetown.
