Mary Lou Alumbaugh

Mary Lou Alumbaugh, 86, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:51pm, Monday, December 26, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on May 1, 1930, in Cayuga, IN, the daughter of Charles and Clara {Williams} Naylor, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Carl Alumbaugh on October 24, 1958, until his passing July 18, 2016. She will be dearly missed by: her children, Carolyn (Dan) Pickering of Bourbonnais, IL, Ronald (Cindy) McMasters of Georgetown, & Carla (Dave) Ramsey of Altamonte Springs, FL; her grandchildren, Dane (Christine) Pickering, Shane (Monica) Ramsey, Chandra & Heidi McMasters, Brandy (Scott) Pearson, Tara (Troy) Morrical, & Darin (Juli) Pickering; her great grandchildren, Josh Johnson, Giuliana Ramsey, Makayla, Brigham, & Mia Morrical, Cade, Ethan, Reece, & Aiden Pickering, Ava & Gavin Moy, Caitlynn & Drue McMasters; her brother, John Naylor; and her special friend, Joyce Hollingsworth. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Cindy; her grandson, Dustin Pickering; her brother, Harlan Naylor; and her sisters, Barbara Innis & Ada Jane Hollingsworth. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved tending her flowers. She was a member of the Vermilion Grove Friends Church, the Red Hat Society & American Legion Auxiliary. Mary never knew a stranger and was a friend to everyone she met. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday December 31, 2016 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Joyce Hollingsworth officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday December 30, 2016 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Vermilion Grove Church or American Legion Auxiliary of Westville.
