Mary Lorene (Rink) Lutchka, 78, of Westville, was welcomed home at 7:44 p.m. December 8, 2016 at her home. She was born August 6, 1938 in Danville to Wilbur Reddy and Mary Wargo and was raised by her mother and step father John McCumber whom she adored. She was united in marriage on June 22, 1963 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville to Joseph Edward Lutchka who preceded her in death on April 21, 2014. Mary is survived by: her four children, Raymond Lee (Nancy) of Williams, IN, Mary (Teri) (Bill) Varner of Catlin, Joey Lutchka of Westville, and Cathy Jo Shafer of Franklin, TN. Mary's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Mindy Lutchka of Bedford IN, Marcy (Toby) Tincher, Sven, Arius and Zaiden Lutchka all of Williams, IN, John Joseph Lutchka of Leander, TX, Jeremy (Jenna) Lutchka, Shelbey Lutchka, Jake Lutchka, and Luke Shafer, all of Westville, Shannon Lutchka of Danville, Taylor Birchfield of Catlin; Her great grandchildren, Gavin Charles and Aaliyah Grace of Williams, IN, Lyndsay Lutchka of Knoxville, TN, Gage and Gracyn Lutchka of Westville and Kaden Birchfield of Catlin. Mary is also survived by her sister, Marge (Earl) Drake of Westville, brothers, Fred (Diane) Reddy of Catlin, and Ronnie Reddy of NY; a sister-in-law, Patricia Reddy of Coeur D' Alene, ID, Marian Lutchka of Westville, Debbie (Bruce) Anderson of Williams Port IN, brother-in-law Tony (Linda) Lutchka of Westville. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, James Reddy and Bobby Carpenter. Mary attended Westville and Catlin Schools. She retired from GM Powertrain in Tilton in 1995. She was a member of St. Mary's Church as well as the Alter and Rosary Society, being a faithful servant in the St. Mary's Rosary Group. She loved being with her grandchildren and attending all their activities. Fishing, taking drives to Forest Glen looking for deer, Bingo and listening to Karaoke with a group of friends and family. Mary was the oldest of her generation and became the matriarch of her family. Her many cousins looked up to her as an older sibling rather than just a cousin. The family would like to thank all the staff at Presence Cancer Center, Dr. Sodi's Office and the staff at Carle Hospital as well as the Carle Hospice who have looked after her the past 4 weeks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a, Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Saupp will officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Monday, December 12, 2016, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville with a Rosary Service at 3:00pm. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Presence Cancer Center of Danville, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
