WESTVILLE - Mary Kuras, 101, of Westville passed away at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday June 28, 2006 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. She was born on April 5, 1905 in France, the daughter of Augustin and Zepherine Tetelin. She married Tony Kuras on December 24, 1924 in Westville, IL. He preceded her in death in September of 1982. Survivors include: one son, William Kuras of Tilton; five grandchildren, Jim (Nancy) Kuras of Bismarck, Greg (Teresa) Gilbreath of Westville, Jeff (Joyce) Kuras of Tilton, Tammy (Kelly) Heffernan of Danville, and Tracy (Kim) Barnstable of Colorado; a son-in-law, Kenneth Gilbreath of Westville; and twelve great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Dorothy Gilbreath, a granddaughter, Betty Gilbreath, daughter-in-law, Barbara Kuras, four sisters, and one brother. Mary was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. She had worked as seamstress at the Windbreaker factory and other clothing manufacturers. Mary loved cooking and made the best pies. She loved flowers and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was very good at making clothing. Mary also enjoyed dancing, garage sales, and loved Elvis. A mass to celebrate the life of Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 30, 2006 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Burial: St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery. Officiating: Fr. David Erickson. Visitation will be held from 9: 30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday June 30, 2006 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville. Memorials may be made to the St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville.
