Mary King

Mary L. King, 84, of Fithian, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born on June 2, 1924, in Fithian, the daughter of Isaac R. and Frannie F. (Morris) Meade. Both deceased. On November 18, 1941, Mary was wed to Howard King in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in Jan 1997. Family survivors include their two sons, Dennis King of Fithian, and James L. King of Fithian. Four grandson; Dr. Darrin (Sherrie) King of Lakeville, MN., Dr. Kevin (Dr. Kim Le) King of Champaign, David King of Morton, IL, Daniel Spitz of Georgetown, and her beloved cat, King. Her brothers and sisters precede Mary in death. Mary was a veteran of the WAC (Womens Army Corp) from Aug of 1944 to Nov 1945. After the service, she owned and operated her beauty shop in Fithian for 40 plus years. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed her work and cooking for her family.
