Mary Kerst

Mary Inez Kerst, 85, of Georgetown, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 12:25 p.m. at North Logan Healthcare Center. She was born in Danville, Illinois on August 6, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Burnett) Silberer. She married Robert Lewis Kerst on February 6, 1941. He preceded her on March 20, 1978. Other survivors include her two sons; Robert E. (Janice) Kerst and Ronald Kerst; two daughters; Shirley (Rick) Davis and Brenda (Alice Marion) Kerst; eight grandchildren; John Wayne, Angie, Mike, Tammy, Daniel, Alysha, Jeff and John; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, David L. Kerst. Mary worked as a factory worker at General Electric, Autotron and Continental Filling. She attended Second Church of Christ and had been a member of Bowman Area Methodist Church. Mary loved music. She played both the piano and organ. She also loved to spend time crocheting. Mary truly loved to spend time with her family. A graveside service for Mary Kerst will be held on Monday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Rumley officiating.
