Mary Jo Meeker

Mary Jo Sollars Meeker, 43, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at OSF Healthcare in Danville, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Jay C. Meeker, daughters Jasmyn Marseilles Meeker and Lilly Auburn-Bay Meeker, sister Lynn (Chad) Clevenger, and nieces Kaylani (Nickolas) George and Mckenzie (Blake) Johnson. Other family survivors include Karla Knoll, Jen (Ryan) Beyers, Maurissa (Chase) Brown, Tyler (Bri) Knoll, Jeff and Sandy Meeker, Samantha (Justin Calvin) Meeker, Mickey Meeker, and Dylan Meeker, followed by several nieces and nephews. Close family friends include: Alishia (Bob) Schoenherr, and Julie (David) Arnette, followed by many more special friends that are in Mary Jo's heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tinee Lee Sollars (2005), Lan Thi Sollars (2006), and her premature son Paxson J. Meeker (2014).

Mary Jo was born on October 17, 1976 in Danville, Illinois. She graduated from Westville High School in 1994 and pursued her bachelors degree at Bellvue University. She later found work at NACCO, where her career was cut short due to being diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. She remained busy and found a full-time job in raising her girls, who were her whole world. She was full of love, kindness, creativity, courage, intelligence, and grace. Her hobbies included cooking, crafting, running, managing her own business, Custom Gifts by MJ, snuggling her 4 pomeranians, pageanting, and being a girl scout leader. Her favorite hobby was supporting her girls in reaching their dreams. Jasmyn and Lilly participated in activities including volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, pageants, and dance.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on Monday October 28, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Cox. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm Sunday October 27, 2019 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Marys family to help cover funeral expenses.
