Danville- Mary Genia "Jean" Davis, 93, of Rushville, IN, formerly of Danville, Il, went to be with the Lord at 12:10 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Flatrock Nursing Home in Rushville. She was born on February 7, 1919 in Rockville, IN to Meridie Virgil and Essie May Henry Bowles. She married James Danul Davis. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Jean (Clarence) McElhany of Lewisville, IN; a brother, Wilburn Bowles of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren, Jeannie Shull, Michael Belonias, Jamie (Chris) Hicks, Terry (Cathy) Davis, and Michele Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan Shull, Danny Davis, Amanda Simmons, Nicholas Belonias, Jimmy Williams, Skyah Davis, and Logan Hicks; and a great great-grandchild, Aurora Lynn Shull; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church, an elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church, and was President of the Church Women United. She belonged to the Lynch Volunteer Fire Department. Mary also hosted foreign guests at Thanksgiving time from all over the world and volunteered her home for housing college students. A service to celebrate the life of Mary "Jean" Davis will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Larry Holycross will officiate. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, May 6, also at Sunset in Danville.
