Mary Jane Tibbs

Mary Jane Tibbs, 82, of Ridge Farm, left this world as her usual short, fat and sassy self at 4:35pm, Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Village, Chrisman, IL. She was born at home in Danville, IL, on June 4, 1937 to Elzo Lawrence and Anna Lucille {Fleener} Thompson, both deceased. She had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She was married to Donald W. Tibbs on May 31, 1979, in Ridge Farm. He survives.

Mary Jane had two sons, James (Rose) Frontino and Michael Frontino. James and his wife preceded her in death in October 2015. She is survived by her son, Michael; her grandchildren, Betty Jane (Steve) Baddorf, Bobbie (Juli) Frontino, Mary (Chad Chizek) Frontino, Scott Tooker, and Cheryl Duncanson; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by: her stepchildren, Richard Tibbs and Marcy Tibbs; her 3 step-grandchildren; and her 7 step great grandchildren. There are also a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends to always cherish her memory. Among them are Mary June McCool and her son, Brad Hanley, who have helped care for Mary Jane & Don since they became residents at Pleasant Meadows in April 2018.

Mary Jane was a member of the FOP Lodge #51 and Westville Legion Auxiliary. She worked for A.T.I. until they closed. She owned and operated Tibbs Corner Grill for 5 years in Ridge Farm. She attended Ridge Farm United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and crafts. One of her greatest pleasures was making gallons and gallons of caramel corn and have numerous "trick or treaters" come to her door at Halloween. She will always be remembered as having a heart of gold and always willing to help anyone she could.

Graveside Services will be held for her family privately with her arrangements being entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville, next to her parents. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Pleasant Meadows Senior Living Activity Fund and the family extends their gratitude for the care she received while there. Please join her family in sharing condolences, memories, photos, & videos through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
