Mary Jane Stark

Mary Jane Stark, 79, of Olivet, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Sunday September 3, 2006 at her home. She was born on July 16, 1927 in Vermilion Grove the daughter of Russell and Bethavene (Holland) Kern. She married Joseph L. Stark on March 15, 1945 in Olivet, IL. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1993. Survivors include: four sons, Joseph L. (Rebecca) Stark Jr. of St. Joseph, IL, John G. (Linda) Stark of Dover, TN, Jerry A. (Janice) Stark of Olivet, and Jeffrey L. (Debora) of Urbana, IL; one daughter, JaNell Stark of Olivet, IL; three brothers, Charles (Blanche) Kern of Champaign, Russell L. (Marilyn) Kern of Metropolis, IL, and Raymond R. (Jane) Kern of Xenia, OH; one sister, Norma Jean Hughes of Cartersville, GA; two sister-in-laws, Doris Kern of Van, TX and Josephine Kern of Georgetown; twelve grandchildren, Lori Stark, John Stark Jr., Jason Stark, Janet Pettice, Joseph Stark III, Jodi Spray, Joshua Stark, Jennalee Stark, Jeffrey Stark Jr., Jeremiah Stark, and Micaela Stark and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Mary Jane retired from Danville Tent and Awning. She was an active member of the Olivet Church of the Nazarene, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and was the Secretary on the board. Mary Jane loved her family, especially her grandchildren. A celebration of Mary Janes life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 7, 2006 at Olivet Church of the Nazarene. Officiating: Pastor James Blue. Burial: Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday September 6, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in her name to the Olivet Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or Carle Hospice.
